Dharna in Front of Kerala SecretariatAfter the enthusiastic response to the day and night sit-in, the Left Democratic Front has decided to intensify the struggle demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and constitution of judicial probe to go into the multi-crore solar scam. LDF convener Vaikom Vishwan announced that day and night sit in at secretariat and district collectorates will be wound up on August 4 and indefinite secretariat picketing will begin from August 12.  The mode of struggle will be novel and unseen in the history of Kerala, he said. He was addressing the press at Thiruvananthapuram today.

LDF volunteers will reach the Secretariat on the morning of the 12th in large numbers and will stay put. Their numbers will keep on swelling as the day progresses as they will be joined by new volunteers from other parts of the state. The functioning of secretariat will be stalled. The LDF has planned district level campaign jathas from August 4 as a precursor to this. There will be no jathas on August 8 and 9 due to Eid ul Fitr.

Vaikom Vishwan announced that a big organizing committee will be constituted by the LDF in Thiruvananthapuram district to manage the indefinite picketing.
