Left parties  - CPI and CPI(M) organized protest demonstration and rallies all over Punjab & Chandigarh  at more than 50 places against invitation to US President , Barack Obama to be chief guest on the Republic Day function. 

The 21st Punjab State Conference of CPI(M) ended on  18 January in the Sarwan Singh Cheema Hall at Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet Nagar, Jandiala Manjki (Jalandhar). It had started on 15th January with the Party flag being unfurled by Comrade Bhagat Singh, the oldest delegate at the conference

Time has come to change the political equilibrium in West Bengal, Polit Bureau member SurjyaKanta Mishra said in his inaugural speech at the 23rd conference of Kolkata District of CPI(M) on 15th January. He also said that the Left forces have to take the challenge to change the rightist political direction in the state and for that, building up of organization according to the demands of the situation has to be the foremost priority.

Party conferences in West Bengal have focused on the emerging situation in the state and the necessity of transforming growing discontent among the people into concrete struggles.Nine district conferences have been completed till 15th January, after special meeting of the branches and local and zonal level conferences. 

The three day State Conference of CPI (M) Punjab state committee began at village Jandiala Manjki (Jalandhar) on 15 January 2015.

The three days conference of CPI (M) Odisha State Committee was held atBhubaneswar from 3rd to 5th January 2015 evening. Com. Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Party inaugurated the conference, which was being attended by  229 delegates & 41 observers electedfrom various Districts and Committees.

The CPI(M) Karnataka State Conference was held at Bangalore from 8th to 11th January 2015. . The newly elected state committee re-elected  G V Sreeram reddy as Secretary.
